Furniture

O! Brasil furniture is made of reclaimed wood from dilapidated old houses and other buildings. The wood is very old, but we don't have any way to know how old. Nor do we have any way to know what some of the woods are. In cases where we know, we include it in the product description. Sometimes we can provide only a word in Portuguese because there is no translation. In general, these woods are dense, hard, and heavy. None of them are the common oaks, maples, ash, or other typical woods of North America.

Some of the pieces are original antiques. This is indicated in the product descriptions.

All of this furniture is very solid and well made. The only "flaws" are simply the wear and tear of the ages - the signs of character. Some of the painted furniture may flake, an inevitable result of the change in climate. We don't think these flakes will detract from the naturally "distressed" look of the wood.
